During the school holidays we hold activities aimed at children from 4 to 15 years old. Each activity has a suitability description. If you are unsure as to whether your child is suitable, please get in touch. 

Spaces are limited for all holiday activities, book your place early to avoid disappointment..

Our activities are generally outside based. Please ensure that you dress your child appropriately for the weather. During the winter months it can be very cold, please layer your child up and bring gloves and  a warm, waterproof coat. 

Lunch, snacks and drinks are included in the price of the day or week activities. Food is provided by our onsite Cafe 'The Coffee Barn'. Please let Dawn know if your child has any allergies in advance. 

Please note that all of the holiday activities (excluding parent and child day) are for children exclusively. Parents are not permitted on the yard to accompany their children. Parents are welcome to remain on site at the Coffee Barn cafe for the duration, or, you are welcome to sign them in at the cafe and leave them with us until the end of the activity, before signing them back out. We will always meet at the cafe at the start and end of each activity. 

Easter Holiday Activities

Mini Kids Easter Egg Hunt

Monday 6th April                              10am-12pm OR 1pm-3pm                                     £30.00

This activity is aimed at children who are on the lead rein, even if they've never ridden before. We will groom and feed the ponies then put on their bridles and saddles and take them for a walk and trot around the field. We will stop the ponies in a field and dismount, find an Easter egg and then remount and ride back to the stables.

Please note that there are two different activities on this day, this is to keep the numbers down on eaxh activity. Please book EITHER the morning or afternoon session. 

Gymkhana and Games Day

Wednesday 8th April                         10.30am-3.30pm                                                   £60.00

Your child will have lots of fun on games and gymkhana day! The children will catch the ponies from the field and get them ready by grooming them and plaiting them. They will take part in mounted games and mini races. This activity is suitable for all abilities and ages (Over 4 years).

My First Jumping Competition 

Thursday 9th April                             12pm-2pm                                                          £35.00          

Children must be able to ride at canter unassisted to join in this activity. They will groom and plait their allocated pony. Then tack them up and warm up as a group. They will then ride over a course of poles or small jumps. Every rider receives a rosette on completion.

Own a Pony Experience (3 Days)

Monday 13th April- Wednesday 15th April      10.30am-3.30pm daily                              £150.00

This is the ultimate activity for your pony obsessed child! They will spend three fun-filled days learning all aspects of horse care and spending time with their favourite ponies. We will bath the ponies*, play games and ride bareback. They will ride on at least one group lesson per day and enjoy riding outside as much as possible. Riders will be split into groups according to their ability. 

Suitability - This activity is suitable for ALL level of rider, including lead rein. Riders will be split into groups to suit their ability. 

Own a Pony Day

Either Monday 13th April, Tuesday 14th April or Wednesday 15th April      10.30am-3.30pm    £60.00

You child can come and join us for the day, they'll learn how to care for their favourite pony. The children will groom, plait and pamper their designated pony before putting on their bridles and saddles and joining a group ride. If the weather allows, we try to take the children out on the ponies to enjoy riding around our fields. Children on pony day also get to join in with the mucking out, filling haynets and making feeds. 

Suitability - This activity is suitable for ALL level of rider, including lead rein. Riders will be split into groups to suit their ability.

Competition Pony Experience (3 Days)

Thursday 16th – Saturday 18th April          10.30am-3.30pm Thursday & Friday 12pm- 5pm Saturday                                 £175.00

This activity is aimed at experienced riders who would love to take part in a show, for either show jumping or dressage. We will work on teaching the children all aspects of what’s involved with competing.  The ridden sessions will work towards a ridden competition on the last day, which family members are invited to come and watch. Children will receive a rosette on completion.

Suitability - Children must be able to canter without any assistance. Ideally children will have done some jumping on their regular lesson.   They will need to be riding on one of our 45-minute lessons to be able to book. 

Competition Pony Day 

Either Thursday 16th April or Friday 17th April (Please note that Saturday 18th cannot be booked as an individual day)                 10.30am-3.30pm                   £65.00

Your child will join in with all of the usual pony day fun such as catching in from the field, grooming and pony care, as well as learning what is involved with taking part in a show on their pony. They'll be shown how to plait, bath and prepare for a show. Their ridden lesson will also work towards what would be required for a competition as well as an on the ground lesson in walking show-jumping courses or dressage tests. 

Suitability - Children must be able to canter without any assistance. Ideally children will have done some jumping on their regular lesson. They will need to be riding on one of our 45-minute lessons to be able to book. 

May Half Term

Your child will join in with all of the usual pony day fun such as catching in from the field, grooming and pony care, as well as learning what is involved with taking part in a show on their pony. They'll be shown how to plait, bath and prepare for a show. Their ridden lesson will also work towards what would be required for a competition as well as an on the ground lesson in walking show-jumping courses or dressage tests. They'll finish off with a fun competition to put into practise what they've learnt all day before putting their pony back in the field.

Suitability - Children must be able to canter without any assistance. Ideally children will have done some jumping on their regular lesson. They will need to be riding on one of our 45-minute lessons to be able to book. 

 

 

*Activities are weather dependant, if there is an activity which is not suitable due to weather conditions then we will substitute it with another fun activity.
